Weinbrenner Shoe Company’s newly renovated manufacturing facility, located at 211 S. Genesee Street in Merrill, marked its official Grand Opening on June 3, 2022, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony followed by factory tours of the nearly 130,000 square foot facility.
The new facility, formerly occupied by Hurd Window & Door and Great Lakes Alfalfa, had been vacant since 2017. The building was acquired by Weinbrenner in March of 2021 and has gone through extensive renovations to increase efficiencies and create a better work environment for employees.
“We want to thank the Merrill Area Development Corporation (MADC) and David Johnson from the City of Merrill,” says Jeff Burns, president of Weinbrenner Shoe Company. “Weinbrenner has been a vital part of the Merrill community since 1936 and we are committed to this great city that has been so supportive of us for nearly a century.”
Weinbrenner has two additional manufacturing and warehouse facilities that remain operational in both Merrill and Marshfield, Wisconsin.
The ribbon cutting ceremony coincided with a private company picnic on Saturday, June 4th to celebrate the 130th Anniversary of Weinbrenner Shoe Company.
