If you met John, you’d know he’s easy to remember. How? He’s John from Johnstown!

As mentioned above, John is based in Johnstown, NY. By day, he’s a Union Pipefitter. By night, he’s the owner of Posson Welding - a small business crafting gym equipment.

After John got home from the Marine Corps, he went to work on his grandfather’s farm.

One day, he had to do some work on a piece of machinery in the shop. In that moment, everything changed - and a career in welding was born. Now he has over 10 years of welding experience!

“Something about working with metal just seemed right, I was calm and happy for the first time in a long time. That's the day that led me to become the welder I am now.”

If there’s one word to describe John, it would be hustle.

He puts in consistent 14 hour days, 6 days a week. Businesses aren’t born overnight, and John is a prime example of someone pursuing the American Dream at full speed. With over 88k+ followers on social media, and a website where he sells his gym equipment - John is an example of what can happen with a little entrepreneurial grit.

“I weld pipe all day, then come home and design, build, use, market and sell my own brand of gym equipment specific to forearm and grip strength training.”

If you’re on your feet all day like John, he recommends Thorogood Work Boots to get the job done.

“I need the best, so I bought Thorogood. They are top quality, comfortable boots that I rely on.”

John is a gym fabrication enthusiast who wants to craft equipment that can be used for generations to come.

Like us, he wants to own a company built right here in the US of A. He currently offers a forearm builder as well as a hand builder that he creates from scratch. His equipment has been used by some gym legends, like Brian Shaw!

“I wanted to build a business I could pass down to my son one day, if he wanted it, and I like having a side business always available for extra income to make sure my family is provided for.”

On his “About Posson” section on his website, he tells the story of how the business started.

“I started Posson Welding when my perfect wife created my logo for me and told me to quit talking about my dreams and start making them a reality.”

Most people probably have no idea how someone like John gets it all done, but he says with some hard work and patience - anything can happen.

“It can be brutal, but it can be done. Start small and build as you go, work hard and be patient. Treat people well and pray that God helps you.”
