MIDSOLE/OUTSOLE
PU Midsole: PU midsole offers exceptional cushioning to absorb shock and reduce impact on feet and joints, ensuring lasting support over time. The flexible and lightweight design allows for natural foot movement, minimizing fatigue during long hours of wear.
Nitrile Rubber Outsole: With the traction and durability of a modern, high-performance racing tire and engineered to heat, oil-, and slip-resisting, this combination sets a new standard for reliability and comfort in demanding work environments.
This special compound was specifically designed to be softer than standard compounds, which improves both comfort and grip. Typically, standard compounds have a hardness of 70º on the Shore A scale, but Thorogood’s compound measures 50º, making it softer and better for comfort and slip resistance. In summary, Thorogood reduced the hardness of the compound by 20% to achieve a softer sole for increased comfort and slip resistance.
The outsole compound surpasses the minimum requirement by 50%. The testing standard used for this is the UNE EN 12770, which considers less than 150 mm3 as acceptable. Thorogood’s compound performs even better at 70 mm3, demonstrating its superior durability against abrasion.
