What is your “Go To” Thorogood hunting boot and why?
It’s hard to pick just one as the favorite. But I have to say the Infinity FD Neoprene boots are my favorite for the comfort – along with being waterproof for sloshing around in these Georgia creeks and swamps.
What is the most memorable hunt you have ever been on?
They all hold a special memory with me. One that particularly stands out most is taking my largest bow buck in Georgia last year on my son’s birthday while he was with us on the recovery. The added pride factor is it was on our own farm where we work and manage wildlife and whitetails all year round. It was very memorable and rewarding.
Who is your favorite hunting partner and why?
Early in life I would have to say my Dad for introducing me to the outdoors, but now I have to say it’s pretty special when my son Archer is with me.
If you could only hunt one season each year, what would it be and why?
The fall whitetail season is pretty amazing in the Midwest especially at my farm in Kansas and Northern Oklahoma.
What is the best life lesson you have learned while hunting?
I would say patience as well as absorbing the whole outdoor hunting experience — not just focusing on the harvest as a measure of success. The whole outdoor hunting experience as well as the preparation is what we yearn for and crave, the harvest is a bonus to the great memories.
Who introduced you to hunting?
Like so many of us out there, my father and my uncle introduced me to hunting, fishing and the outdoors.
